PosterBored is too sexy for this shirt! · 67 days ago

With 10 cycles of America’s Next Top Model behind us and Project Runway being one of the most highly talked about shows at the water cooler, PosterBored decided it was about time to get in on the action. So, we set out with a camera, some friends, and a level of smug superiority that would rival Tyra Banks, and we came back with what we think are some really neat t-shirts!

Who can deny the magnetic pull of a good comfortable t-shirt and a pair of jeans? Definitely not us at PosterBored! That’s why we’ve decided to add a t-shirt to our store!!!!!!

The t-shirt is based on the much beloved Chromeo design, and is expertly printed by Chicago’s own Propaganda on a unisex, ultra light Hanes tee that features the exact same cut as the popular American Apparel t-shirt. 100% cotton, 100% hotness. Featured in sizes S-XL.

We plan on adding more shirts to the store as soon as we can, so keep checking back, and we’ll try to get your skinny pale bods covered before you lose that immunity challenge.

Hold on one dang dong second. T-shirts in a poster store?

Yes! The t-shirt will be based on the much beloved Chromeo design, and is expertly printed by Chicago’s own Propganda on a unisex, ultra light Hanes tee that features the exact same cut as the popular American Apparel t-shirt. 100% cotton, 100% hotness. We’ll have sizes S-XL.

We hope to be featuring more t-shirts as we grow, so keep coming back and checking in with us. You know we’ll be sending you a hot little love note again on Monday to remind you about all this, but don’t forget: We’ll be having sordid little thoughts about you all weekend.

PosterBored Has Spring Fever! · 132 days ago

They say that, in the spring, a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love. Over here in Chicago, our fancies are in love with the fact that it’s over 40 degrees for the first time, that our three year long winter seems to finally be over, and that the 17 miles of snow we’ve been covered in is, at last, starting to melt. Also, we love our newest contributer, Chicago’s indie comic book artist Jeffrey Brown!

You’ve seen his work, no doubt. He’s been in McSweeney’s, Best American Graphic fiction, various free weeklies, and even directed that really cool Death Cab for Cutie video.

Jeffrey Brown has created a new work specially for Posterbored called ‘At the End of the Day.’ It’s exclusive to our site, and cannot be found anywhere else. Each copy is signed by Jeffrey Brown and numbered 1 through 100. We found Jeffrey to be a really cool guy who enjoys pizza immensely, and we are extremely gratified by his contribution.

In other big news PosterBored has set up a business account with UPS and we’re now offering Ground service. We heart the post office for delivering birthday cards and getting Netflix to us, for the most part, on time…however, those irregular shaped poster tubes were causing some serious time issues. UPS Ground will make shipping quicker, reliable, quicker, and trackable. Did we mention it’s quicker?

PosterBored was featured in Time Out Chicago a few weeks ago! To see the full article click here.

PosterBored appreciates your continued support! Thank you for telling your friends about us – word of mouth has helped so much!
Finally thawing,

Bill & Annie

p.s. It’s Annie’s birthday this month and she’s telling everyone she knows. So, once again: Annie’s birthday is this month! Happy Birthday Annie!

PosterBored Is Playing At Your House! · 184 days ago

I can see it now: The scene? Your place. The party is just getting started. Only a few people have arrived so far, and it’s that period right before things heat up where it’s like six people kind of standing around awkwardly, everyone hoping that the night actually takes off.

The conversation is a little slow…you’re just getting to know each other after all. You’ve exhausted the who-do-you-know and what-do-you-do portions of the conversation, and people are just kind of nodding and smiling that weird little smile that says “Should I call my friends and meet up with them at the bar, or…?”

When, suddenly. SUDDENLY. Someone points to your wall, and says “That’s really cool. What is that?”

“Oh, that poster?” you reply, grateful for the new distraction. “Oh, that’s something I bought on PosterBored.”

“I don’t know what that is,” says the pointy guy.

You’re about to take people to school. You know something none of them know. You can actually feel your cred meter shoot up about 12 points.

“Oh,” (wow, you say ‘oh’ a lot, don’t you?) “it’s this cool little site where artists submit designs, and people vote on whether they like them, and the winners get made into posters. The artists get a cut of the sales.”

“That’s pretty cool,” says pointy.

The other five people there agree. They compliment your exquisite taste. They ask if you have any other posters from the site.

You lead them into the living room, and at the moment, the doorbell rings. Five more people wander in, and the party finally starts. You don’t show off your other posters, but by the end of the night, you’ve won a million dollars for coming in 1st place in a makeout contest. People also say your hair looks really hot, and one of your childhood pets comes back to life.

My God, you’re a genius..

If you have the cash to support cool indie artists, and one of our posters strikes your fancy, get on over to the store and get some art on your wall, you heathen. If you’re just browsing today, be sure to vote and leave comments for the artists. They always appreciate it!

You are kind and beautiful,

2008: The Year of the Poster! · 204 days ago

If the ancient prophecy is true, and the Order of the Guardians of the Posters were correct, then what has been foretold has come to pass: PosterBored kicks some serious butt!

How did they know, these wise men of Old? Was it a case of alien intervention? Were they able to unlock the secrets of Atlantis before it vanished beneath the waves? Or is it simply that the concept of cool, unique art is SO POWERFUL, it reverberates through time, into the past, present, and future?

Probably was the last one. With a little help from the Atlantis aliens.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Yes, we have survived the holidays, and you have too. We have experienced incredible things and witnessed holiday miracles, like the One Bathroom For Eight Adults, and The Baby Who Cried Whenever Bill So Much As Looked At Her. Annie was the recipient of whole milk chocolate made from sheep’s milk, to which she replied “Um, thanks?” The chocolate now sits on the kitchen counter, waiting for the next brave soul to try their luck.

But, we digress. We are here to talk about posters!

The last few weeks have been great! We have had many, many signups, which has resulted in many, many submissions, and we have four new winning poster designs now available in the store, with a few more to announce over the coming weeks.

In Facebook news, we’ll be offering an exclusive coupon code to Facebook fans, so get on over there and and tell us you’re a fan!

Have you submitted a poster, and you’re looking for a good way to promote it? If you have a Facebook account, you can use the ‘Posted Items’ app (everyone has it), and make your poster show up in your friends newsfeeds! It’s super easy, and it looks a little something like this:

Linking to your poster = more votes = more sales = more money for you = no more having to say “I’m sorry, I really can’t” when they ask you if you want to supersize it!

Moving on, the current score is:

Ninjas: 5
Pirates: 3
Robots: 2

It seems that the ninjas are firmly in the lead with five winning submissions, to the pirates three, and the robots two. If you’re a ninja, proudly high five one of your fellow black clad assassins! If you’re a pirate or a robot…are you going to let them get away with this?

We’ll leave you with that thought, our swashbuckling and mechanical friends…

Bill & Annie
