1. Who are you, where are you from, and how old are you?
I'm Jason, I'm around 26 as far as I know and I live in Denver.
2. Besides creating cool posters, what else do you do with your time?
I play around with Photoshop on an almost daily basis, spend hours finding new bands on the Internets, eat Indian food and even go outside sometimes.
3. How did you first know you wanted to be an artist?
When I was younger I used to doodle and sketch on every piece of paper I got my hands on, first with crayons and then coloured pencils. Once I grew up and learned about digital art and photo manipulation in Illustrator and Photoshop, I was hooked for life. Now I can vaguely approximate the effect of crayons and pencils on a computer screen.
4. Tell us a little bit about your winning poster.
Microbe is the miracle of modern science created by Something Awful forums member Captain Corduroy. He asked me to put together a design for Poster Bored so that fans could adorn their walls with Science. It should also probably be mentioned that Microbe is the best.
5. What would the ideal professional career be like for you?
Any situation where I can get paid for doing what I love. Unfortunately not too many companies are willing to write a paycheck for taking naps in the middle of the day and listening to loud music, so I'm still working on this one.
6. What is your favorite thing you've ever put up on your wall?
Pink Floyd's "Animals" album poster. I love the surreal and oddly disturbing quality of Storm Thorgerson's work, it makes me feel like I'm going slightly insane.
7. Where else on these interwebs can we find you?
I lurk around here and there, but I can most reliably be found on the Something Awful forums, at least until I come up with something better. |
