Michelle Aiello/ Copilla

1. Who are you, where are you from, and how old are you?

I'm Michelle Aiello, often called Mish. I'm a 28-year-old from Chicago, IL.

2. Besides creating cool posters, what else do you do with your time?

I write a zine called Indigo and I make greeting cards. I also organize a semi-annual D.I.Y. event called Ephemera Festival. As for work that actually pays, I am a substitute teacher for Chicago Public Schools while I search for my first English teaching position.

3. How did you first know you wanted to be an artist?

I've always had an inclination toward creative projects. I don't remember a time in my life when I wasn't making things or doing art of some kind.

4. What would the ideal professional career be like for you?

I have no idea. I'm always asking myself that question. I have a feeling it could be teaching, but I'm not 100% sure. I know that I want to be creative in my work and hopefully help others in some way. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

5. What is your favorite thing you've ever put up on your wall?

I have a print that a bought at a Magnetic Fields/Andrew Bird show at the Old Town School of Folk Music. It's a beautiful steampunk-inspired drawing of a locomotive with the names of the musicians in an absolutely gorgeous typeface.

6. Where else on these interwebs can we find you?

My personal site is www.indigozine.com and you can also find me at www.myspace.com/indigomish .
