1. Who are you, where are you from, and how old are you?

My name is Kim Herbst, originally I was born in Taipei, Taiwan due to my father's previous job but I grew up in New Jersey, and then went to Maryland for college.  I'll be 24 by the end of March.

2. Besides creating cool posters, what else do you do with your time?

I work as a Junior Designer in Brooklyn for a company that creates web games for larger corporations such as Nickelodeon, Discovery Channel, Adultswim.com, and more. In my spare time, I freelance creating comics and illustrations.

3. How did you first know you wanted to be an artist?

All children draw when they're little, and as you become older, people ask, "when did you start drawing?"  People should ask, "when did you stop?" I simply never stopped when most other children stopped, and as an adolescent drawing on the backs of every worksheet I was handed in school, I was constantly asked, "are you going to be an artist when you grow up?" It seemed to stick.

4. What would the ideal professional career be like for you?

I would love to be involved in storyboarding for animated films, or comics, or even concept art for video games. I suppose you can say I'm on my way by being involved in webgames. Anything that involves drawing and creativity to be exposed and seen by others sounds wonderful.

5. What is your favorite thing you've ever put up on your wall?

Funny enough, it's not a poster or even a piece of paper. It's a small kimono robe I had as a child back in Tokyo, it's hung by a wooden dowel through the sleeves, and it's intriguing to see exactly how small a kid can be.
